Michelle Field’s weak battery accusation against Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, has been laid to rest by a Florida prosecutor.
So Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields pressed charges against Corey Lewandowski last month because he, “aggressively tried to pull [her] to the ground” when she was following Donald Trump, trying to ask a question, while Trump was walking towards the exit. Not wanting to “be a part of the story,” she instinctively writes a tell all on Breitbart, goes on multiple media outlets, and finally, pressed charges against Mr. Lewandowski. It’s important to note that Michelle Fields, Ben Shapiro, and 5 other Breitbart reporters ended up leaving the right-wing website because they felt as though they weren’t being supported enough by fellow colleagues.
After filing the police report, the CCTV footage was finally released. HOLY SHIT! Did you see that!? There should be a parental advisory on this video, the violence is too much. “Campaign managers aren’t supposed to try to forcefully throw reporters to the ground,” Fields says. Um, excuse me Ms. Fields, but where’s the part of you being thrown to the ground? All I see is you being pulled out of the way from a presidential candidate who was done taking questions and walking to the door. That little trip over your heels is not going to hold up in court.
After the video was released, #GrabGate was created. Twitter was swarmed with outraged tweets calling out Michelle Fields scandalous accusations. No one could believe that someone would actually file charges over something so little. He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out of the way. Just because your feelings got hurt when he didn’t say sorry doesn’t mean you can be so melodramatic. I mean, sure, I get pretty pissed when someone bumps into me or pushes me in a crowded area and doesn’t say sorry, but I’m not going to go out of my way to accuse him of assault or battery. I get over it, maybe throw my foot in his way on ‘accident’.
The bottom line is this: nobody was wrongly prosecuted for a crime they obviously didn’t commit. Again, Donald Trump’s campaign wins, and Michelle Fields might have thrown the match into the kerosene filled trash can where her career rested. Ben Shapiro is probably having a little fit on Twitter at the moment, as he did when the charges were first filed. I doubt Lewandowski will respond, but he might tweet something out in the middle of the night. I suggest keeping an eye on Twitter about this subject, might get pretty interesting.
Will update on this matter when more information is released.
